AGame Super Shoot Out

DAY 2

The boys of PTT represented well at the AGame Super Shootout today. Our 13U won 2 games and advanced to the semi final game and loss to a tough, big Team Final group.  We were down to 5 players when rebounding machine Nafis “The Beast” Smalls went down with an ankle injury mid way through the first half.  In the quarterfinal game against the Future Players from Prince Georges County, MD, the 13U crew played their best game of the AAU season thus far.  Point guard Tony Carr, managed the pace, while Nafis Smalls collected over 20 boards.  The boys from Maryland were a tough, scrappy group, and at times it looked more like a football game than a basketball game, but PTT stuck together and pulled out the victory.

Our 12U team won 2 games on Sunday and advanced to the final game and loss to a tough team from Boston.  MABC Bengals jumped to an early lead and PTT was never able to recover.  The boys battled and came within 8 points at one point during the second half, however they weren’t able to pull it out.  The 12’s were led all weekend by Josh Sharkey and Quadir Bradley, both of whom were featured on the Bball spotlight website (www.bballspotlight.com). Great job by all teams!!

DAY 1

All of our boys teams are participating in the highly competitive AGame Super Shootout tournament at Academy of New Church.

Our 11U boys split in day 1, with a win over the Delaware Royalty and a hard fought loss to Team Final.  Gurads Myles “Beefy” Holland and Troy “TK” Holland (yes they’re related) led the way for the 11’s. With a few new additions to the team, Coach Bilal has some weapons in his arsenal, we are looking for a big day 2 from our young boys.

Our 12U team continues to play well, coming off an impressive showing in the Atlantic City Showcase a couple of weeks ago. Our 12U boys won both of their games today by 40+ margins of victory.  Led by super point guard Josh Sharkey, swing forward Jayson Clark and post player Quadir Bradley,  PTT has shown that they are one of the best teams in the region.  It’s only a matter of time before everyone on the circuit starts to take notice.

The 13U boys had the toughest game of the day. In their opening game, they faced a very tough NJ Got Game team, which defeated PTT earlier in the spring at the Clash For The Cup Tournament in NJ.  The game was a true rumble from the opening tap. The boys from NJ tried to apply pressure to the guard heavy youngins from Philly.  However the ballhandling and aggressive play of guards Akeem King, Tony Carr, Zane Martin and Josh Sharkey, helped PTT easily handle the press.  Nafis Smalls -14pts, and Bilal Nichols (pictured)-13 pts., led the team in scoring, but it was the play of the guards that won the game for PTT.  The second game of the day was a 20 point victory over the PA Renegades.  Nafis Smalls once again led the team in scoring with 16 points and what seemed like 20 rebounds.  It was a great day for our 13U boys, we are looking forward to advancing out of pool play tomorrow.
